Tien Sydnor-Campbell, MS, CMT is a medically retired body-centered psychotherapist and certified massage therapist with 20+ years of clinical experience. As a specialist in recognition that the body and mind are not separate in health/care, her role was to empower clients in managing psychosomatic imbalances. Counseling certifications are Trauma-informed and Trauma-focused methodologies and the Bodywork certifications are in Neuromuscular, Craniosacral, Reflexology, Aromatherapy, and Reiki Master. All of which have contributed to her current passion. Due to a diagnosis of Autoimmune Rheumatoid Arthritis, being a lifelong volunteer and advocate, and now helping to both inform and educate the public about the unique difficulties that a Disabled Black Woman faces in both health care (physical & mental/emotional) and in social settings. She hopes that this preliminary research will be supported within the Autoimmune Rheumatoid Disease treatment community and eventually affecting treatment protocols. Tien is familiar, as a therapist, with the symbiotic nature of wellness against a backdrop of chronic physical and/or mental illness.
